It has always been an ambition to see the Iron Gates of the Danube, and Vienna and Istanbul are two of our favourite cities, so when I saw the Imperial Capitals of Europe cruise advertised, we decided this might be the one for us. It was a decision we will never regret, that led to a memory which will remain with us for the rest of our lives. The whole experience was fantastic, from the home pickup to being delivered back after the cruise. I cannot find enough superlatives to describe the boat, the crew, the accommodation (although understandably a ... little cramped), the food and the magnificent organisation, Above all we will always remember the friendly attitude and superb service provided by all the staff, even in difficult circumstances. As a Yorkshireman I have always had an ambivalent attitude to tipping, especially to being told exactly how much I should tip, but I had no difficulty in overcoming my natural aversion in view of the excellent service provided. When the boat’s engine gave up the ghost towards the end of the cruise, we thought things would get worse, but this proved not to be the case. Thanks to some inspired organisation and planning, an alternative programme was implemented that did not detract from the overall experience and resulted in a stay at one of Europe’s best hotels in Bucharest. (Thanks to Bart, our tour manager, for this and his efficient organisation throughout the trip). On top of all this, Uniworld offered us a generous credit of $500 each towards our next trip. I would especially like to compliment Bart the cruise director onboard as well as Daniella who took wonderful care of us in Bucharest at the end of the trip. You have some fabulous, enthusiastic, thoughtful, fun people on your team. I hope  you can keep them!  We lucked out on our return by not being delayed because of the ash cloud, Daniella was very thorough with information and helpfulness.
 
Only one day home and I am already dreaming about our next Uniworld cruise.

We were welcomed aboard the River Princess by the exceptional crew who are professional and friendly and fun. The ship is beautiful.The meals are a treat and each day we were able to share a table with new friends. Whether on the ship or on a shore excursion our days and nights were fabulous. It was an unforgettable experience.

We have been on 5 river cruises and this trip starting on Sept 8 at Nuremberg Germany was the most enjoyable. The crew especially the 1st.Capt. Anton van den Boom was outstanding. We have never experienced as friendly a group. The cruise director Walter?? was also outstanding. Thanks for a great time.

Every aspect of our trip was outstanding from the scenery, the ship, the tour director and the staff. The local tour guides were excellent and the quiet vox system was a great help. I can't tell you how much we enjoyed this trip without sounding like I am exaggerating! Thank You so Much.

I recently returned from the European Jewels Cruise (August 17-31) and had a wonderful time. EVERYTHING exceeded my expectations! The River Princess was wonderful and the staff and cruise director were so helpful and did everything they could to make this a wonderful vacation. Only downside was having to come home and not be able to enjoy the wonderful meals and great service. I hope to take another of your cruises in the next year or two. Thanks again!

I just returned from a 16 day Uniworld European Jewels river cruise.  I had a small group of 10 friends that sailed with me and I just wanted to let you know how wonderful it was.  We sailed on the River Princess and everything from the staff to the food, tours, entertainment was the best.

Captain Menno de Sera was wonderful and made judgments that enhanced our trip. Because the river was rising near Regensburg he decided to get ahead of schedule so we could make it under the Deggendorf bridge. This was a great judgment call since ... several ships after us did not make it through that day.  I've been on many many cruises and have never had a Captain that was so visible, warm and friendly. 

Doris van Jeveren, the cruise director was wonderful and gave such informative history lessons on the ports we were going to.  She was so personable, friendly and always available. Jan Wlodarcyzk, the hotel manager, was also so friendly and made everything on the ship run smoothly. A special thank you to Tomas Lysak, the restaurant manager,  with his special help with my group for dining. I could mention everyone of the staff because they were all wonderful and made for a glorious cruise.  Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!

Everyone in the group had such a great time and we can't wait to take another river cruise with Uniworld.
