We are delighted to announce that Connie Marco will join Uniworld guests on the June 23, 2019, sailing of our new Jewish Heritage Program, Authentic Danube & Prague, as part of our Signature Lecture series.

Connie Marco is a respected educator and speaker who is well versed in the history of the Holocaust—her parents and her husband’s parents are Holocaust survivors. Her desire to know more about her family’s rich Jewish heritage and their experiences during WWII led to extensive research, which in turn paved the way for her graduate thesis titled, “The Family History of Cornelia Rose Kalt Marco.”

Like many children of Holocaust survivors, Connie knew very little about her family’s past and used the research for her thesis to help unlock secrets and stories that her family members were hesitant to share. She even contacted the head archivist at Dachau concentration camp and was able to secure copies of her mother’s and aunt’s Dachau records.

Connie has a B.A. from UCLA and an M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy, and owns a private practice in California. She has presented at Hillel 818 at California State University, Northridge, and has served on the Alonim Advisory Board of the American Jewish University. Currently she serves on the board of the David Labkovski Project, which aims to educate audiences on the Holocaust through David Labkovski’s experiences and artistic expression. She is also a docent at the Los Angeles Museum of the Holocaust (LAMOTH), where she has been involved for decades.

We invite you to join us and Connie Marco as we travel from Vienna to Prague in spectacular fashion onboard the River Princess.
