Ciprian Ghitulescu - Senior Pastry Chef

It’s more than job…it’s a career!

Accounting – is it really for me?

After completing culinary school, Ciprian opted to study accounting and mathematics. Finding himself in a low-paying job after four years of University, he decided to go back to what he really enjoyed – cooking! For the next seven years he worked as a chef, gaining significant experience in restaurants throughout Romania.

If you think you can, you can!

Ciprian is very ambitious and likes to push himself to the limits and, in his words, to “dare and break the bounds”. In fact, it was shortly after he was teased by a colleague that he wouldn’t make a good crew member because he is too calm and quiet that he decided to accept an onboard position.

Living on a ship

For someone who has never worked on a ship, it takes a little time to get used to the accommodations and environment. But before long, Ciprian knew that Uniworld was the right place for him.

Always follow your dreams!

After working for a year as a relief Sous Chef, Ciprian went back to his dream job – baking! He became a Pastry Chef and now works as a Senior Pastry Chef. In his words, “Uniworld showed me a lot of great possibilities and opened a lot of doors. Yet here I am, within my new role, being completely satisfied with what the Company wants to ask and offer”.

When asked what advice he'd give to anyone a career in river cruising, he answers: “Join the best! And those are not only empty words, I really think so! Uniworld just rocks the place!!”

Passion, passion, passion…

Ciprian is so passionate about baking and cooking that he established “Academia Culinara by Ciprian Ghitulescu” and has a Facebook page and website where he publishes his favorite recipes. We wish Ciprian a lot of success in his career within Uniworld as well as in Academia Culinara!
