Day 1 – Basel

Arrive at EuroAirport Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg, where you will be transferred to the ship.

Day 2 – Breisach (Kayserberg and Riquewihr or Colmar)

FEATURED EXCURSION: Fairytales do come true
Along the famous wine road are many gems made up of old medieval ramparts, castle ruins, winding alleyways and half-timbered houses. You may feel like you are stepping into a fairytale, but it is real. Experience an Alsatian village day in either Kaysersberg or Riquewihr and step back in time to the Middle Ages as you walk through castle ruins and along cobbled squares with carved fountains.

Day 3 – Kehl (Strasbourg)

FEATURED EXCURSION: Canals, cobblestones and cathedrals
Glide along the canals to experience all the magic that Strasbourg has to offer, from charming cobbled streets and quaint Hansel and Gretel-style houses to the majestic white storks of Alsace. Climb to the top of the fabled Cathedral of Notre Dame to see the towering astronomical clock and leering gargoyles.

Day 4 – Germersheim (Speyer)

FEATURED EXCURSION: Mysterious elixirs & Technik Museum
Discover Speyer’s many charms today, or don a cloak and delve into a candlelit cellar and herb chamber at a vinegar estate. Dare to try chocolates made with vinegar (surprisingly delicious!). You’ll also visit the Technik Museum and its spectacular transportation collection, including a jumbo jet, submarine and Russian space orbiter.

Day 5 – Rudeshiem, cruising the romantic Rhine River, Boppard

FEATURED EXCURSION: Bird’s-eye views
Ride a miniature train to Siegfried’s Museum of self-playing instruments, and stroll along the famously narrow Drosselgasse, a tiny lane lined with shops and cafés. Get a bird’s-eye view of the Rhine, Rüdesheim and the vineyards via a cable car ride to the Niederwald Monument, and for an added adventure hike back through verdant vineyards where you’ll discover the beauty of the Rhine.

Day 6 – Cruising the romantic Rhine River, Koblenz

FEATURED EXCURSION: Ehrenbreitstein Fortress and Marksburg & Rheinstein castles
Koblenz, at the confluence of the Rhine and Moselle rivers, provides your gateway to medieval exploration. Enjoy the thrill of riding an aerial tram over the Rhine up to Fortress Ehrenbreitstein, one of Europe’s biggest fortifications. In the afternoon, you’ll visit Marksburg Castle with its inner fortress, twisting passageways, a dungeon and more than 2,000 years of weaponry. Cap the day off at Castle Rheinstein with a “Knights Reception” hosted by a real Count and toast to your medieval adventures with a dragon’s blood cocktail.

Day 7 – Cologne

Birthplace of Eau de Cologne and the “Chamber of Essences”; home to one of the world’s tallest Gothic structures as well as the resting place of the Three Magi; and site of the Odysseum, an interactive adventure museum— Cologne will intrigue the young and young at heart. From the past to the present, explore, try out and get involved in engaging experiences from 3-D movies to learning about the art of making perfume.

Day 8 – Amsterdam (disembark), transfer to the airport

Disembark the ship and transfer to Amsterdam Schiphol Airport for your flight home.
