SERVICEEveryone on the ship was very courteous and went out to their way to be helpful. Special thanks to Almeida(waiter), Ana(Dining room) and Ricardo(in the bar) for taking special care of us. My stateroom attendant was not the greatest. Our room floor was dirty and I had to ask to get it cleaned. We did have some trouble with a group of dentist who were on our ship. We have a group of 8 of us who have taken a combined 21 Uniworld trips. In the past we have found a table for all 8 of us and stayed in that spot for the week(breakfast, lunch and dinner). This group was determined to NOT let us keep this table at dinner and went out of their way to do so. As Heritage Club members, it would be nice to have a perk of maybe reserving a table if we have a large group of us.
PRODUCTThe trip up until Lisbon was awesome. Really enjoyed all the wineries and tours through the old cities. Once we got Lisbon, I felt like we were left on our own to fend for ourselves a little too much. The host at the hotel was not very helpful(sorry he made such a bad impression I cannot remember his name.) Our departure taxis were very disorganized. There were 16 people leaving at the same time and luggage wasn't down yet and we didn't have enough taxis. We did make it to the airport and found a Uniworld rep waiting for us there which was great, but no one had mentioned anything about this to us.

SERVICEThe onboard service was incredible, from the moment you stepped onboard to the time you left. Nothing was no much trouble and always with a smile.
PRODUCTWhat a amazing experience, From the Captains and sailors that guided us so smoothly along the rivers and through the locks safely to our destination, to the chefs waiters and bar staff that fed everybody so well and kept our glasses full. The tour director Ibi who ran a very organised program keeping us all as busy as much as we wanted to be. The reception staff who always greeted us so warmly whenever you came back onboard. To the housekeeping staff who did a amazing job, everything felt so clean onboard.

SERVICEHousekeeping, waiters, and front desk personnel were very attentive and responsive. However, excursion and pre-cruise operators were variable. Post-cruise operator in Lisbon was very efficient and knowledgeable.
PRODUCTGreat service onboard, but excursions were reduced (supposedly due to nature and safety) and, due to a group of 67 persons boarding before us, optional excursions were eliminated. They received preference for tours and were very clique-ish. So little camaraderie on board. While there was an attempt on the pre-cruise to help those with walking disabilities, the excursions were still taxing (e.g., the "flat" walking tour of the area around the hotel in Madrid was mainly uphill and at a fast pace).

SERVICEThe personalized service, attention to detail and making sure all needs and desires were met was incredible. After a few meals the wait staff figured out that I don't drink coffee, I always want water and I usually skip dessert. Our Cabin Attendant Veronika set a gorgeous surprise for us for our 30th Anniversary (the reason for the cruise). I wish I could add a photo for you to see.

And it's the little things! My husband has a sweet tooth and would take gummi bears from the "snack stash" in the lounge and put them in a glass on the nightstand. Our Butler Panche removed the offending glass and replaced it with a covered candy dish filled with gummi bears. The bar staff had my number too and my drinks were ready in an instant, just the way I like them!

PRODUCTEach stop on the cruise offered amazing excursions with history, art, architecture or all of the above. Most of the time, there was plenty of "on your own" time, but for some of the more interesting spots, I'd have liked even more free time - Bamberg was a notable example.

The food on board was exceptional and so much better than I expected after having been on ocean cruises where the food is miserable. And Chef Daniel was engaging, helpful and available for questions.

Heidicha, our cruise manager, and Marin our hotel manager were Johnny on the Spot with details, assistance and answers to every question. And Heidicha has the patience of a saint!

Panche, our butler, offered to give me a "sabering" lesson with a bottle of champagne that the airline gifted us. See the video on my blog.

SERVICEService was outstanding and exceeded all expectations. The food was excellent, the tours and guides were exceptional, and the service was outstanding on a regular basis. Of particular note was Stoyan in the bar, Heidicha our Cruise Manager, Marin the Hotel Manager, Nikolay and Agnes our near-daily servers in the dining room, and Veronika our cabin housekeeper. They formed the core that made our cruise a truly memorable experience.
PRODUCTNo purchases! Once I was on board, my wallet was not touched unless we purchased something in port.

Yes we would recommend Uniworld.
PRODUCTThe only critique I have is the sit down dinner selection was a bit lacking. Breakfast was excellent, lunch was better, lots of choices.

The sit down dinner included only two non-vegetarian choices, always a fish dish and a meat dish. The fish dish was never shellfish, such as shrimp, crab or lobster. Or scallops. I'm not a big fish eater, I will eat shellfish, so left with one option at dinner.

Meat option sometimes tough. I think the quality of meat used for dinner could be improved.

The sit down meal often disappointing compared to the lunch and breakfast. How it was served and the presentation was excellent!!

I know there were some options at the bottom of the menu, such as steak or chicken, which I had a couple of times, but that isn't what I expected. I realize you have only 90-100 guests, but if there was one more entree for dinner that would be great.
