Over the course of two lectures, guest speaker Susanne Reyto will paint a vivid picture of Communism in the region, from both historical and personal perspectives. Her story begins with imprisonment at just five years old, and continues on with a moving tale of the secret life she was made to live before eventually escaping Communist Hungary in the 1950s.
ABOUT SUSANNE REYTO
Susanne M. Reyto is the award-winning author of Pursuit of Freedom: A True Story of the Enduring Power of Hope and Dreams and Destination Freedom: Escape from Tyranny. Being a child survivor, she is a frequent speaker at the Los Angeles Museum of the Holocaust.
Her childhood experiences and her ultimate escape from Communist Hungary in the late 1950s left Susanne with an unwavering spirit of optimism and perseverance. She works tirelessly to educate our future generations about the history of the Holocaust and Communism in Eastern Europe.
